General Artist Statement: Shaped predominantly by events in my life, my themes explore various personally meaningful subjects both broad; such as animal welfare and environmental concerns, to more intimate; friends, family and community. I am inspired by nature and often use elements and materials from the natural world to tell my story. I enjoy creating many of the components in each piece by hand. Learning a new skill each time I build a new project helps to keep my process fresh. This technique does not facilitate prolificness but instead allows me to fully immerse myself in each small detail. I enjoy working with large format cameras and film. Thank you for this opportunity.
