Prologue

Growing up my mother was an avid scrapbooker and my father always had a camcorder in hand. I would spend hours a day looking through photographs that existed long before I was even a concept in their minds and admiring friends, family, and pets that have all come and gone having moments together that will never happen in the exact same manner again. 'Prologue' is an attempt to grapple with the passing of time as I embrace young adulthood. To be coming of age is to face head on what it means to be alive: establishing identity, discovering personality, and building relationships that make or break our experiences. When we reflect on our late teen years and early twenties we can often overlook the softer moments for ones that feel like they’ve been burned into our skin. I want to know: what does it mean to live in the moment? Our memories morph and change every time we retell our stories. Images within 'Prologue' are highly directed and stylized recreations of moments shared with friends and family.
