“Like the feel of fresh air after a heavy rain, of a breeze kissing on heated skin on a hot summer night, of a thirst that’s quenched after a desert walk, of a tight hug after a long time apart”, that’s how it felt in Berlin in June 2021 when the city allowed bars and restaurants to operate welcoming guests again after 18 months of lockdown. On these days like other thousands people in Berlin I celebrated the historical transition like a kid that first time feet touched its playground. In that moment life bursted with full excitement and was lived with such an urgency as if any time Berlin would be set back into lockdown again. The city was wakened after a long sleep transforming to a state between dream and reality that is suggested to be depicted through the high range of colors, blur and unsharpness of the photographs I made summer last year.
