A Couple's Tale

How much (visual) information is necessary to talk about human relationships? By reducing the interaction of this couple to a few gestures, to how their bodies relate, eliminating all the mimics - do we still get what's going on? This photo series is visually very reduced, evoking memories of Japanese drawings, of black and white graphics - making this a timeless encounter between two people without any ties to a specific location. It was photographed with available light, using a white backdrop and over-exposuring the images.
