The Wind in the Brain.
(Street beach Polaroids).
We are our past.
I think this without falling into the trap of unbearable nostalgia.
The selection I am presenting is part of a work, "The Wind in the Brain", made up of over one hundred Collage/Transfer-Polaroid images created between 1998 and 2001.
This technique has made it possible to obtain pictorial results otherwise unreachable before the diffusion of digital photography.
I carried out a long and complex work of transformation: the basic image is the polaroid transfer where negative toning and dissolving colors appear; then I cut and decomposed the polaroid photos; finally I selected the fragments to paste on the transfer until I obtained a different image.
The proposed selection concerns the environment and the life of the people who flock to the beaches of the Mediterranean but I didn't want a simple chronicle; as in painting, the scenes have been interpreted in a surreal way thanks to the technique used.
This experience later became my photography.
We are our past.
