Changing Perspectives: The Evolution of Ivanpah Solar
The focus of my work over the past four years has been on the development of large-scale renewable energy in the American West. I began this work in October 2010, with a flight over the future site of Ivanpah Solar in the Mojave Desert of California, USA. Now complete as of February 2014, Ivanpah Solar is the world's largest concentrated solar thermal power plant, with the capacity to produce 392 megawatts of electricity, enough to power 140,000 American homes.
Sponsored by Blue Earth, a 501c3 non-profit organization, this project seeks to foster a clearer understanding of large-scale renewable energy projects and be a constructive pro-active voice for responsible energy development.
