BREAKING THE LIGHT
BREAKING THE LIGHT uses a digital camera to make single exposures of abstract expressionist images. Evocative, though in no way imitative of Jackson Pollock, de Kooning, Rothko and Kline, these images blaze a totally new and revolutionary direction for the art of photography.
The two hundred year old order of "realism" in the art is under siege by new young in heart and mind daring rebellious iconoclasts who break out of traditional vision to reveal the astonishing world of new images around us that lies hidden under the veil of "realism." The digital revolution has freed photographers to emulate Picasso who said, "I paint what I imagine, not what I see." We can photograph what we imagine and create a world of the art of photography that ravishes the eye and powerfully stirs the imagination. The old order shatters, and the sky's the limit.
