Gender Reflection

Gender Reveal is my visual exploration about the possibilities we each have on how we chose to present ourselves in today’s society. It is my creative quest to delve into individual human behavior and how we search for acceptance and ultimately fulfillment. You can have all the professional and personal accomplishments in the community as a sis gender yet still not be able to achieve genuine inner happiness. I mean look at the poster child for this movement , Bruce Jenner’s transition to Caitlin. It’s not about one’s sexual attraction ( although it’s sometimes obvious) or a political or religious statement on one’s beliefs but a simple exploration on what makes a person feel authentic. Medical breakthroughs and pharmaceutical exploration as well as public figures, who have been publicly brave enough to reveal their true selves have opened up the possibilities. Just because chromosomes determine our biological sex before we even exit the womb does not mean we grow up identifying with that scientific conclusion. People chose to do extraordinary things everyday in order to find that elusive feeling of complete gratification. Choosing our own gender is now a viable option. He, She, They are just pronoun labels. We are all humans and we can now define our own gender.
