The City of The Sun

Football shrines and religious iconography dominate the backstreets of Napoli, showing the passion and devotion of the locals. Secluded bays and city beaches offer moments of calm and tranquility, although the chaos of the city is left behind, the energy is still high. There is a creativity and a non-conformist attitude that fills the air, creating a buzz that is unique to Napoli. I tried to capture this character and attitude in the work I shot here, providing the viewer with a tangible glimpse into the city and the people that call Napoli home. I wanted the work to feel textural, to invoke the senses and draw the viewer into the feel of the city.
