This excerpt from “Diary of a mad person”, an ongoing project of mine, is an attempt to create space for both the shared and unshared realities of my life as a mad, disabled, autistic photographer. This project is not documentary in nature; it’s rather an attempt to use many approaches to create a sketch with open doors and pathways. Themes this project touches on include suicidality, hospitalization/force, personhood, hope and despair. The background for all of them is un/shared reality and negotiating the same and separateness of mad experiences and life overall with that of sane people.
