This is a shot of the winter landscape of a small town on the wild Sea of Japan at Ishikari Bay in Hokkaido, Japan.
Houses, streets, and cars are frozen over, and people are sitting inside, waiting for winter to pass. No one is outside in the town. Food and daily necessities come in from time to time by supermarket trucks with supplies. People go outside only when the trucks come in front of their houses, do a quick shopping, and then retire back inside.
The sea rumbles in my stomach from the ocean, and the frozen towns have a strange beauty to them.
I was so fascinated by such a harsh winter landscape that I took a plane from Tokyo to come here dozens of times to take pictures.
