Memoirs of a Broken Starlet: the false emancipation of one, Ella Oliveira

"memoirs ..." is a photo-story project I started in 2021 that tells the story of a young girl who is discovered by Hollywood and whisked away into the fairy-tale world of show business. Ella quickly discovers that the cost of fame and glamour come at a high price and must learn how to navigate an often ruthless industry if she is to make the positive impact she desires. What originated as a single photoshoot grew into a journey that has taken us to Toronto, Italy, New York and Los Angeles so far. The project will eventually be self-published as a book with Ella's story that involves a mix of photography and writing in the form of a fictional memoir. This is a work in progress...
