The artwork collections always begin with the photographic, theme-based and conceptually-driven, accumulation of a series of elements. Each collection is constructed as a visual system rather than as a set of singular images. The photograph is modular, not singular: images function as collected components, where the objects operate as collection chapters.
Traditional photographic formats and framing are deliberately abandoned. Images are cropped non-conventionally, often in a collage-like manner. Through selection, emphasis, and distillation, photographs are reduced to their most essential parts, isolating their core signal and punctum rather than presenting complete scenes. The number of photographic elements within each artwork varies, from isolated images to more complex interpretations, while the underlying method is fixed. Different themes are explored through the same logic, resulting in variable outcomes.
Each artwork is constructed with the subject inside and the object outside. The images form the narrative center, while the surrounding structure operates as a supporting system. All works are housed within transparent, laser-cut acrylic frames, a material choice that stays constant across all artworks. Transparency ensures material restraint and prevents the frame from competing with the images, allowing the photographic content to hold the central position.
The formal language of the frames is generated from a restricted set of rules: straight lines and circles of different dimensions. This reduction establishes a consistent form language while allowing for extensive variation. This principle is rooted in the problem of squaring the circle, an attempt to reconcile opposing geometries. Rather than functioning symbolically, this approach serves as a practical method for translating conceptual ideas into formal structures.
While the material stays the same, the shape of each frame is derived from the concept behind the collection. The frame is not decorative, but concept-driven and function-based, designed to support, surround, and organize the photographic elements. Precision-based fabrication allows for well-defined boundaries and a clear spatial suggestion. Emphasis on construction aligns with architectural principles that prioritize formation, function, and presence over ornament. This influence emerges intuitively rather than illustratively, reinforcing the sense of the works as objects that endure rather than images that merely represent.
At first encounter, the works present themselves as formally abstract objects, maintaining visual autonomy. Through contextual activation, they resolve into conceptually modern statements. Fragmentation and abstraction invite interpretation rather than offering resolution, allowing meaning to emerge gradually through engagement. Although produced using contemporary processes, the works carry an artifact-like essence with their narrative context, visual content and structural clarity. Across this developed practice, concept varies, shapes change, and material remains constant. What emerges is formal cohesion without confining formula: not a style, but a language.
