In this series, I aim to showcase the streets of rural Norway, primarily in the southern part of the country. These streets represent a subculture known as "rånere," defined as people who leisurely drive cars without a specific destination. This is often where the youth gather, socialize, and share an interest in cars. It is a widespread phenomenon across Norway, with various environments found near major cities as well as in smaller, more remote areas. While this environment may not seem significant at first glance, it holds great importance for the youth involved. By documenting their lives and communities, I seek to offer a nuanced portrayal and challenge the societal stigma and misunderstandings they face. Through the photographs, I aim to provide the viewer with a deeper understanding and insight into the "råner" subculture.
