This series is a collection of stills from a larger project that illustrates outstanding moments from across the United States. Throughout the years, my project has morphed, changed names, seen several cuts, and had different collaborators. However, its consistency remains in capturing bizarre and otherworldly sites, interactions, and characters within the cities I live in and visit. Using exclusively 35mm film, I am interested in seeing the camera as an extension of the eye. By quietly taking note of its surroundings, the camera enables us to heighten our senses to the absurd. It is through my process of photographing that I find these absurd moments of beauty, violence, comedy, performance, and happenstance.
