Project Waste

Project Waste talks about human accumulation and excess. Unlike in those massive industrial garbage centers, this project zooms into the small and the nearby human trash sitting in our neighborhood alongside nature’s own waste production. It’s in the daily garbage collection, placed in an arbitrary manner, where sculptures become alive for a brief moment, to later be back to its original place. The process is an eternal loop. We can then see garbage evolve into machines, artifacts to which we try to assign some meaning, though in truth, they are useless. Then humanity appears. Bodies begin to participate alongside garbage in the construction of these objects. So waste, a byproduct of human existence, meets He who has created it. Dissolved and simplified versions of humans, entangled with waste, are packed into machines and are themselves ready to be collected.
