'Myself, I' explores the concept of Narcissism and Self-Obsession in the digital age.
The protagonist exhibits a split identity, one where they present an air of superiority and demand validation and admiration from the external world, and another internal reality where they struggle melancholically with their own sense of self and who they really know themselves to be.
Within the images, through a surrealist approach this journey of understanding the split of self is visually explored. The muse is portrayed in various scenes where she is faced with her own corrupted self-perception, with no-one present to witness this but herself. The series is created from the perspective of a third party, inviting viewers to cast their own judgement about the muse and perhaps also ask questions about the way in which in the modern world they themselves are both observers, and observed at the same time.
The series speaks on themes of experiencing a distorted sense of self, and the identities we create for ourselves online, versus who we truly are in real life.
