I will down the road.
Motorization and Provincial Town.
I lived in a city that used only transportation when I went to school, work, and shopping anywhere I went. After that, I moved to a provincial town in Japan two years ago. This series is what made me wonder about the landscape.
I’m living in the countryside in Japan. We have to use the car for anything that I want to do. The station is not close. There is no transportation, which means Motorization city. Everybody goes to shopping large grocery and shopping mole with extensive parking, and so many local stores are closing. Many chain stores gather along the main road, forming the city's center. There is no individuality as a town there; it seems it is just a copy.
I’ve been shooting street snaps and documentaries. This car snap is also very natural as my own point of view that arises from my daily life, and it is also the reason why I became interested in environmental issues and motorization.
