After successfully submitting nudes in color to international foto contests during many years, I recently started to focus more on monochrome pictures, mainly on sepia. Lensculture is a unique opportunity to bring my amateur work to the next level while submitting pictures in black and white. I am arguing that black and white is my most challenging project so far as it is dealing with timelessness, light and shadows, and pausing and contemplating, as some members of the jury put it. I tried to keep their valuable input in mind when choosing the five pictures I am submitting. Participating in this contest is a test for my versatility and mastery as an amateur photographer. Ultimately, it's about pushing the boundaries of my work and showcasing the diversity of my skills to a wider audience, while looking where there is room for improvement.
