As an architectural student in Denmark, I made what amounts as a photographic diary. I was 22, living in a new world and environment and I recorded what I was involved in and what was happening around me. Curiosity, my desire to understand, trying to take it all in, the naïve intuitive non-journalist, and voyeur taking/making/capturing photographs of people and things from a young and inexperienced American vantage point describes my intent. I guess the process of making them satisfied my need since they have been in the sleeves with never more than a glance for nearly 50 years. Retired, quarantined, and reviving my work as a photographer, I’ve scanned about 1500 frames. That’s about half of what I made during the two years I studied at the Royal Academy of Art.
