When I moved to the Netherlands in 2020, I wanted to capture the beauty of my new home in a new way. I was helping my daughter with a class photography assignment where she wanted to take long exposure images of the ocean when I the light turned on in my head. What if I painted with light by moving the camera during an extremely long exposure?
This was a completely different way to think of making an image than I had ever done. Instead of concentrating on form, shape and composition, I started seeing everything in pure color and how colors interact with each other. I enjoy the viewer trying to understand the subject and then smile when told the answer.
