This project delves into the interplay between buildings and their surroundings, captured through reflections and is part of the broader "Signs of the Man" series.
A distinctive feature lies in the intentional absence or marginal relevance of human figures, allowing the buildings to assert themselves. We mold them into silent sentinels, their forms stands against the backdrop of their mirrored counterparts. This minimalist approach grants the architectural elements the spotlight, testifying the spirit of human civilisation, what remains of all our lifes when we're no more here.
They serve as markers of our past presence or perhaps symbols of our growing detachment from the natural world.
The intentional use of black and white, combined with vintage lenses, emphasises the architectural forms and their intrinsic aesthetic values. This stylistic choice not only separates the viewer from immediate reality but also imparts an abstract quality to the images. Through this lens, the photographs transcend mere representation, suggesting contemplation on the evolving relationship between humanity and its constructed environment.
