Where We Live

I began shooting digital since 2019 while continuing to work with film. I am gradually learning to shoot digitally more thoughtfully, borrowing from my fifty years of experience as a film photographer. My work betrays my fascination with shape, texture and light, all of which influence both my colour and black / white image. Four of the five images in this group are shot digital, and all five images are colour, though two of them have the effect of being black and white. Post processing has been done in CaptureOne and follows much the same workflow as I have used in the darkroom with film in the past. I feel these images should be an accurate, hopefully interesting representation of how I see, and how I think when a camera is in my hands.
