The African Sangoma.

I set out to find him. The Zululand hills lay rounded beneath the tropical African sun. I set out to find him ---- me the Mzungu (White Man ) searching the wilderness for the most famous Sangoma ( witch-doctor or/and herbalist). Two days later I arrived at his kraal. He said that I should wait in the shade till someone could catch him a snake. When the Puffadder ( one of the most venomous snakes in Africa ) arrived the great Sangoma put the reptile's head in his mouth. "You see" he later said, " I have power over all man and beasts". I will never forget that day. After I took the picture of him he told me that I had two sons and that in a year I would go on a long journey. How did he know? I have two sons, Nikki and Jesse. The following year I did a 9 months journey from Cape Town to Cairo. How did he know? To this day I stand in awe of all magical Medicine Men. I will always remember you ---- you, great Sangoma of Zululand.
