Nature of America (or what’s left of it) (2006)

"Nature of America (or what’s left of it)" is a series of 12 unaltered stamp sheets issued by the USPS, 1999-2008. Each block in the series included ten perforated US postage stamps which have been removed, revealing an absence, 'a hole in nature.' The series presents both a celebration of America's nature and its eventual diminishment and loss. "Nature of America (or what’s left of it)" was initially made (with the first 8 sheets in the series) for 'When Things Dream' (2006), the third garage installation in the Garageography Trilogy (see https://www.lensculture.com/lewiskoch?modal=project-5457).
