After four years of sitting in front of his desk and contemplating some unusual situations, I finally decided to point my camera outside my window, towards the entrance door of the Hermitage of “Virgen de la Soledad” (Virgin of Solitude), mounted on a tripod.
I found myself compulsively taking pictures and realized that, although I initially wanted to capture strange situations, the mere normality of what was happening in front of my eyes was worth photographing.
Close observation allowed me to discover the obvious but previously unnoticed, such as repeated patterns of behavior, and some of the photographed passers-by has become so familiar to me that when I pass them in the street, I have to make an effort not to stop and say hello.
Except for the light, which shapes the background, nothing changes in the environment, making the characters stand out even more.
This series proves that all you have to do to get interesting photographs is to wait in the right place for something to happen. Every step we take leads us to build our lives and tells others about who we are. This series aims to witness how we are now, to remember in the future how we were.
