“My creative process is closely connected to how I see the world in terms of beauty, harmony, and order. I draw inspiration from both the human and natural environments and isolate ordinary objects and remove them from their context to make them ambiguous and abstract. The objects that interest me most are those that are ordinary and often taken for granted.
I am attracted by the corrosion and decay brought about by the external forces of nature. Weathering and aging create patterns that enhance an object’s beauty and evoke feelings around the passage of time and the cycle of life. Rhythmical formations and striations often found in human and natural environments can lead to thoughts of universal harmony and the power of nature. My hope is that my images offer viewers a counterpoint to a world that is complex, chaotic, and full of conflict.
Creating an exquisite artifact is the ultimate objective of my endeavour. My intent is to evoke emotions that challenge perceptions, perspectives, and assumptions and raise awareness of the beauty in the ordinary. And to continue creating images that convey beauty, a sense of mystery, enchant the viewer and garner a second look.”
