Pride, an event for which unfortunately there is still a widespread prejudice that it is a simple “Carnival” that we could even do without nowadays. But a glance at the history and meaning of this event is enough to completely change your opinion. Just think that Pride is (also) a political demonstration and therefore represents an opportunity to make requests to governments to claim the rights of Queer people, who unfortunately are still not sufficiently protected today. This demonstration is also the legacy of the difficult struggles conducted since the sixties by homosexual and transsexual people who have had the courage to raise their heads to demand nothing more than respect for the most basic human rights: security, recognition of one's dignity and, above all, freedom to be and to love.
