This photography project presents a unique view of Tehran by capturing the reflections in shop windows. While walking through the city, I noticed how most people only focus on the items inside these windows, ignoring the intricate reflections that combine the interior and exterior worlds. These reflections symbolize modern Tehran—a city that has rapidly grown, industrialized, and become chaotic, yet still retains a distinct beauty amidst its complexity.
Over three months, I photographed these reflections using a Canon G7 Powershot camera. Although the images were initially taken in color, I chose to present them in black and white to better convey the mood and emotion I intended. The monochromatic approach highlights the depth and hidden meanings within the reflections, allowing the viewer to focus on the interplay between the interior and exterior elements.
This project aims to showcase a different side of Tehran, inviting viewers to notice the often-overlooked details of daily life. These images are not only reflections of the city but also offer a deeper perspective on urban life in this vast and complex metropolis.
