My gallery is a mixed bag; I enjoy photographing whatever I encounter that catches my attention, either because it is beautiful or interesting, suggests a story or speaks to me in some other way. I don't feel compelled to find and have some unifying "aesthetic. I enjoy the feedback and awards, not so much for the affirmation - I take pictures because I enjoy doing so in itself - but much more because each positive response tells me that someone else was also struck in some way by the image and this indirect contact and commonality with another person, albeit (or maybe because it is) a stranger is satisfying as a sort of antidote to the divisiveness that seems to me to be so prevalent in the world today to our common disadvantage. I am buoyed in spirit that there are so many people out capturing beauty and interesting things in the world and that I can be a part of that community.
