A school in a paddy field…
Project info

At the behest of The Ayesha Academy Trust I was given the opportunity to visit and photograph pupils and teachers working within several schools in Bangladesh.

My focal point of interest whilst visiting Bangladesh was to learn about the educational system within a rural area. Most particularly I wanted to meet the children and teachers at the Dokkin Satarphoy School. The school is surrounded by paddy fields and situated within a poor village which lacks the basic amenities of piped water, electricity and proper road access. Despite these drawbacks I was constantly greeted with cheerful smiles and enchanted by the genuine and generous hospitality of the children and the villagers.
