Outside MY Windows (2006-2019. 2024 - on-going project)

- Finalist of Hong Kong Contemporary Art Awards 2012 The *"Outside MY Windows"* photo series is deeply rooted in the artist's childhood experiences growing up in a public housing estate, where his parents restricted him from venturing outdoors. Confined within the walls of his home, his only connection to the outside world was through the windowpane, offering him a glimpse of the bustling street below. This formative experience became the foundation for this captivating series, where the artist documents the unfolding narratives around a table-tennis table situated just beyond his window. At its core, the series conveys a powerful message: creativity is not something distant or elusive—it exists within the realm of our immediate surroundings. It explores the possibilities of contemporary photography, demonstrating how every aspect of the creative process—conceptualization, design, photography, production, and even global publication—can originate from a single, familiar vantage point. Through this work, the artist invites viewers to find inspiration in the ordinary and to see the extraordinary in the everyday.
