"I.C.E." (Inner Containment Experience)

Part of a 31-day study titled I.C.E. (Inner Containment Experience), this series explores the micro-textures of water as it transitions into ice. The cover image, "Breaking the I.C.E.", captures a moment of physical failure: a porcelain vessel shattered after being frozen longer than intended. Rather than discarding the failure, I embraced the accident as a study of fragility and the silent expansion of nature. The image is presented against an expanded field of its own textures, mirroring the forces we try to contain that inevitably find their way out. What started as an observation of the differences between frozen tap water and seawater evolved into a profound reflection on fragility and climate change. By positioning the fracture to the left, the composition highlights a sense of instability and the inherent vulnerability of our own 'containment' systems when confronted with the relentless, expanding forces of nature. Captured via a mobile lens, the work highlights the significant environmental stories often overlooked in the micro-details of our daily lives.
