The goal of this project was to show that cosplayers are everyday people like everyone else, because they tend to be misunderstood, at least in my home country. That's why I suggested to some of the best cosplayers in my country to shoot them at their work or home, wearing one of their favorite cosplay.
I took this liberty, as I happen to know most of them quite well, being a cosplay photographer for many years and having co-operated with most of the big Greek conventions, thus having shot most of them repeatedly over the years.
I had staged shots with the ones that accepted and could sync our schedules, but in this collection are the photos I took while they were doing something else, whether that was everyday life (e.g. Jim Keith, Ronny von Kaida), working (Ailiroy Creations, Darkenya Cosplay) or taking a break from the staged shots (e.g. D. Papadopoulos, Rene Polumorfous). I felt that these photos better depict their life and/or struggles and sport a more "sincere" look in their faces (where applicable).
In the years since I first started the project I also had it with Turkish cosplayers and hopefully I will perform it in more countries as well.
