I have lived in Ferrara for many years, and although it is a small city, I certainly have not seen many of its beauties. One of these was the Jewish cemetery that I finally visited in a foggy morning just few days before my departure from the city.
The cemetery was built in the XVII century within the city walls (still largely intact) and today it hosts graves dated from 1800 to our days. The oldest ones were sacked from the Inquisition.
Within the cemetery is the grave of the novelist Giorgio Bassani designed by the sculptor Arnaldo Pomodoro.
