Unknown faces / street melancholy
Project info

Sometimes it is when we expect nothing that the best occurs, that the portrait is the deepest, that meeting is the most wonderful.

I spent a year walking in Phnom Penh with my camera documenting the fast development of the capital city and its inhabitants. People usually spend much of the day outside, it is like a second home. The children play, the parents work, everybody takes a drink or eat in the streets, people have fun and some also sleep rough. Life is often far from easy for most of them.

Thus there is a kind of sweet and proud sadness that I tried to highlight in this set.

All the pictures were taken in the streets of Phnom Penh.
I do not know them well but I will never forget their faces.
