Les Belles de Nuit Portraits

Over the last decade, as a result of the increasing government pressure on freedom of speech and human rights in Turkey, night clubs became one of the few places where you could act and dress freely. Coming from various sociocultural backgrounds, these portraits of cross-dressers represent the growing solidarity among the LGBTI community in Istanbul. These portraits were taken at Mini Muzikhol night club in Istanbul, during Les Belles de Nuit Festival.
