3 years RoadTrip
I am living in my small 21feet camper for 3 years now. I chose to transform my life in an attempt to transform my art. It was for me a radical decision. Gaining mobility favorised the emergence of situations that arise my creativity. I travel to the places that interest me the most, in between countryside and cities, industrial districts, strange parkinglots, documenting at the same time my encounters. Since then, my work became quite biographical and helped a lot to feed my curiosity. All(ish) the pictures I take are not set-up, they are spontaneous using the real flash effect and people on site. My subjects remains mostly strangers or friends that I often juxtapose to a cheesy panorama with a powerful immersive esthetic. I started experimenting with the colored gels as well giving a new dimension to the picture I create and imprinting my own presence in the image. In this serie I want to continue explore the relations between humans and their environment, the exploitation of mass tourism, the concept of private properties and manufactured landscapes. Creating totally surreal picture without the artifice of extensive retouch (only using lightroom for development). Wired to solar panel, I am totally autonomous (off the grid) in terms of electrical energy, wich allows me an incomparable liberty of movement. The campeur is truly my home, with the retouch center, I even own a toaster, wich is real luxury. My art is what allows me to sustain this way of life. If you like what I do, prints of my work can be bought online on my website.
