Street Life NYC
This series of NYC photographs reflects a number of themes that are consistent in my work. I am fascinated by the intersection of people and elements in the urban landscape that come together by chance to suggest a narrative or pose a question for the viewer. I look to capture the decisive, often ironic moment, when people appear as characters as if in a stage set populated by the signs and visual noise of the street. I often compose pictures with a simplicity that presents the subject in a direct manner whether facing or moving across the field. My objective is to convey a consistent point of view that is humorous and clear enough to enable the viewer to appreciate what lies beneath the surface of everyday experience.
