Meanwhile Across the Mountain
Caucasus used to be the land of wine and oranges during the Soviet times, the favourite location for the dachas of Soviet top leaders and a holiday paradise for all others. But along with the fall of the Soviet Union, wars and conflicts broke out, which are still mostly unresolved. During six years I've travelled and met people both north and south of the mountain range, photographing them in their daily life, a life which is influenced both by animosities and suspicions across the borders as well as by the common–and unifying–ex-Soviet history. For an outsider a paradox, for the locals just the way it is. Being an outsider I was personally very attracted to this complexity. The book will be released in January 2017 by the Swedish publisher Max Ström.
