Vive la République
This tiny village in the South of France is called Joyeuse, meaning joyful, happy. It organizes several festivities for the 14th of July Bastille Day celebration of France being a Republic.
I shot the atmosphere of the 2016 14th of July in Joyeuse while the Nice attack was in full preparation.
The evening dinner for the Republic, the fireworks and the fancy fair are what makes this day a real party all over France, with the fireworks at the Eiffel Tower as an apogee.
Helas, this 14 July ended differently with the Nice Truck attack.
