“The little things seem nothing,” the French writer Georges Bernanos once wrote, “but they give peace, like meadow flowers which individually seem odorless but all come together perfume the air.”
I believe in the magic that exists within the mundane – brief seconds of mystery, drama, tragedy, and beauty that takes place all around us. Searching for these small moments is a kind of meditation. It forces me to slow down from an otherwise fast paced life and changes the way I think and look at the world around me. Finding them help me appreciate and in a way, make sense of the short but incredible journey we call life. In Japanese, komorebi means sun that filters through the leaves of trees. Whether in my room or on the road, these photos are light and foliage, the fragments and the pieces that make life complete.
