Women on the Street 4
Project info

"The psyches and souls of women also have their own cycles and seasons of doing and solitude, running and staying, being involved and being removed, questing and resting, creating and incubating, being of the world and returning to the soul-place."
Clarissa Pinkola Estes

Photos of women on the street by a woman on the street. Photos taken with an iPhone 5s.

Capturing moments in time through photographs fascinates me. It feels like an honor to be able to capture moments in a woman's life as she goes about her day to day activity, and my intention is to reflect or mirror the beauty and tenacity of the human soul in the process.

This project is part of a series. As a woman photographer approaching the later years in the sixth decade of my life, part of this photographic journey is considering and exploring the idea of how women street photographers may view their world differently and how their images may have a different feeling tone than male street photographers.
It is not meant to answer this question, but to explore it.

From my early years as a photographer until the present time, I am inspired by the brilliant street images of Esther Bubley.
