We live in a universe governed by scale, from the microscopically small to the unimaginably huge. Without the help of instruments: microscopes, telescopes and the like, our range is experience is incredibly limited. To make matters worse, our ever increasingly distracted lifestyle has us in a state of permanent partial attention. It's nice sometimes to stop and pay attention to the really small, the inner world playing out right under our noses. For by training our senses to really notice detail in the really small, we will learn to notice the detail in the not so small: a person in need, a cause worth fighting for, an opportunity to love.
