These images came from a process of healing. My daughter had a sudden and severe brain hemorrhage and was in the hospital for several weeks. To get over the pain and fear I felt I would walk out to a flower garden in front of the hospital and stare at the flowers. though I essentially lived in the room with my daughter for those three weeks, I would visit the small flower garden in front of the hospital when I would take my walks as a reprieve from the hospital room. It seemed appropriate to capture the images on a polaroid SX-70 I had recently bought on ebay that came with some packs of expired film. The imperfections arose from the chemistry not flowing up towards the top of the image as it was pushed out of the camera. There is a metaphor blood and fluids in the brain here.
