Distortion & Transformation
Using photography as my creative medium I have developed a body of work featuring imagery of the human body, or to be more precise my body. The fundamental elements underpinning my work are based on the personification of an emotion, the perception of ourselves and those around us and the influence of past experience.
Looking beyond the details of the image this body of work explores the representation of possible versus impossible and plausible implausible to create photographs that not only challenge the truth, beauty and typical representation of the human form.
Within my own creative practive Facing the camera lens provides a unique opportunity to engage in deep non-verbal dialogue, self study and reflection. The end result being an output that reveals personal secrets and a sense of isolation, and exposes what was once hidden in an attempt to objectify the undisclosed aspect of the unconscious mind.
