Mermaid Parade - Coney Island
Coney Island always was a important place for people of New York to spend their days off and to enjoy and express themselves. Over the years many of the attractions there have been closed and were at last destroyed by a hurricane.
One of the last remaining open places on Coney Island is the Coney Island Theatre, build around 1980. Most of my portraits were taken in this theatre, during the annual Mermaid Parade. They are like the look into an old mirror that never loses its charms.
