Dedicated to the 16 Sherpa guides who lost their lives near the Everest Base Camp as a result of an avalanche on Mount Everest on April 18th, 2014. Many have considered this to be modern mountaineering's deadliest single tragedy. Three of the sherpa guides have yet to been found and are presumed to be dead. Since the avalanche, more than 300 international climbers have abandoned plans to scale Mount Everest, the world's highest mountain at 8,848m (29,029ft), which straddles the border between China and Nepal.
These are 10 photographs from my 25-day expedition in the Everest Region from Lukla to the Everest Base Camp and back.
