In recent years, overwhelmed by so many and such bad news, citizens walk the streets with faces long and grey. The economy has taken the talks in bars, even beating football; risk premium, rescue banking, preferred, officials complain, doctors complain is, six million unemployed, protests each day, fear, fear, fear. Could we perhaps give a small touch of humor on the streets? Could we pull up a brief smile to those sad faces? For a couple of weeks the photographer, along with an Assistant, walk the city looking for those smiles, looking for a wide range of faces that can reflect the different groups of people that make up the citizens; doctors and sweepers, lawyers and market traders, sailors, footballers or artists... in trendy bars or taverns...
Finally, some 80 large-format pictures were hung in one of the downtown streets the city of Vigo, Spain, and the citizens changed their face when they crossed under that kind of joy tunnel.
