Lifted Universe

I do Polaroid emulsion lifts. I double and triple them in order to create a universe of my own, floating in my mind, transgressing the real. Each carefully crafted lift is handmade and unique. Process is very important. Due to the use of Polaroid film there is a notion of nostalgia and imperfection in my self portraits, a sense of longing and mystery furthermore hightened by the fact that contrary to classic (self) portraiture, the subject (me) shies away from the camera, refusing to face the focus, thus hiding in the arcane from the spectator's gaze.
